Sometimes it is good to have the option of a different friction level when you’re abseiling.
The Cardiac Arrester has a subtle kinked shape which allows for this. If you’re using fatter ropes, flip it one way for a smoother ride. Conversely, if you’re using skinny ropes, flip it the other way for greater control.
