Treated Fence Post 100mm x 100mm | UC4 - Longer Life Treatment
These Redwood Fence posts are treated to UC4 specification, meaning the treatment should enable to the post to have a much longer life in the ground. For anyone looking for an upgraded version of our softwood treated fence posts, without switching to concrete posts, these UC4 fence posts are the perfect solution.
What panels are these fence posts suitable for?
The 100mm x 100mm fence post is especially recommended when installing closeboard panels, as they are heavy and robust. They can also be used for hanging lap panels, although in most cases a 75 x 75mm fence post will be adequate for lap.
What length fence post is best for my panel?
Generally speaking, if the post is being concreted into the ground you should allow around 600mm (2ft) in the ground under the bottom of the panel. If you are installing on very soft ground or in exposed areas (eg. on a hillside) where strong winds are more of a factor then it's worth purchasing a post which is 900mm (3ft) longer than the panel.

What is UC4 Treatment?
These 4x4 Fence Posts are cut from redwood. Before the pressure treatment begins, the timber is kiln dried to around 28% moisture content (or even below). This allows the treatment to penetrate deep down to the heartwood. Because they are treated in this way the posts have a 15 year expected service life. Although this is by no means a guarantee, it does give a bit more peace of mind that choosing these posts above a normal softwood treated fence post for a fraction more money will be a very worthwhile investment.
