This Newtown pattern billhook is a tool traditionally used for hedge laying as well as other tasks, such as harvesting of coppice material, small poles, working-up material and cleaving.
Single edge Bill Hook by Richard Carter. A billhook is most common when hedge laying, but is also the perfect tool for clearing weeds, cutting back hedges and chopping kindling.
Carter's Double edged bill hook. Ideal for clearing weeds, cutting back hedges, chopping kindling and hedge laying. This billhook has been fitted with a 6'' (150mm) grade A hickory shaft.
Smaller and lighter than a traditional billhook, the sparhook if often used to split hazel thatching spars, and harvesting smaller coppice materials.
The Yorkshire Billhook is one of the most popular patterns in our range of hedge laying tools. It is very well weighted to cut thick stems, but can still be swung with one arm.
